To Phil's family,
Both Phil and Al were participants at the Mansfield Senior Center when I was Coordinator. I feel blessed to have known them. After my retirement I was able to play bridge and to know Phil better, I admired her. She was also a tremendous help to me as a "caller" for the Women's Club of Storrs while I was president. I'm grateful she was with a loving family, and will truly miss her.

To Phil's Family: I was very saddened to read of Phil's passing. I am truly privileged to have known her and it seems that I knew her almost forever. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever know. Her passing is truly a great loss however she did leave a great legacy behind. Know that you all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Sue, Thank you so much for your call. Aunt Phil was loved by all and we are so blessed to have known her. Tim so often talks of the family gatherings and how bonded the Hughes siblings were. Please give our sympathy and love to your family and if you are ever in VA stop for a visit.

Jim, Beth stole the words right out of my mouth. As soon as I read the part about your mom's sense of humor, I said to myself, "Well, that's where Jim gets his." I hope that your mom's legacy of laughter and love will see you through this time of tears. I am very much my father's daughter, and although I lost him 25 years ago, he is still with me because he lives on in my thoughts and in the things I do every day. Hang in there and see you when you get back.
We here at the Mansfield Senior Center knew "Phil" from her love of Bridge. Many a time she graced the top three winners that appeared in our monthly newsletter, Senior Sparks. Please accept our sympathy and condolences. God Bless.

I was sorry to see your mom's obituary in the paper this morning. It sounds like she was quite a character with a wonderful sense of humor, which seems to have been passed on to the next generation.
She was very lucky to have kids who took such good care of her when her health began to fail. Of course, that's probably not luck at all. You reap what you sow, and she had a wonderful harvest.

ps My oldest son lived in Stafford Springs for a while about five years ago. I didn't know that was the part of CT you were from. It's a pretty area.
