Raphael "Ray" A. Bachiochi's Obituary
Raphael “Ray” A. Bachiochi, 87, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, on May, 15, 1927, to the late Primo and Alice (Murray) Bachiochi. Ray was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn (Caywood) Bachiochi, in 2003. Ray was the captain of the Stafford high school football team and was an avid trumpet player in his dance band “The Music Makers.” He graduated from Stafford High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on Wake Island. He was employed as a supervisor at the Stafford Printers for 34 years and retired from TYCO as Multi- Layer Plant Manager in 1990. Ray was a lector and lifelong member of St. Edward Church, past president and lifetime member of the Stafford Fish and Game Club, an instrumental member of the club’s Land Committee, lifetime member of the Italian Benefit Society, member of the Democratic Town Committee, member of the Stafford Board of Education, and he was a coach for many years for the Stafford Little League. He enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends at his pond. He was a passionate Patriots, Red Sox, and UConn Husky fan, and also an avid participant of the Mill Pond and Big Y coffee clubs. He is survived by his daughter, Rae Lynn Skelley; grandchildren, Meagan Coporale and her husband Anthony, Matthew Bachiochi and his wife Kathleen, Kelly Chollet and her husband Eddie, and Mark Bachiochi; great grandchildren, Anthony Jr. and Bella Coporale, Connor, Owen and Luke Bachiochi, and Mathis and Aiden Chollet; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Bachiochi; sister, Lorraine Kwiecienski and her husband Richard; dear friend, Mona Rabideau; sisters-in-law, Doris Deuse, Barbara Swain, and Alice Caywood; brother-in-law, Robert Swain and his wife Carol; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Dana Bachiochi; brother, Harry Bachiochi; and sister, Mary Bryant. His funeral will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Thursday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral Home.
