Raymond H. Kuharski Jr.'s Obituary
Raymond Henry Kuharski, Jr., 58, of Vernon, CT(formerly of Cheshire, CT), passed away peacefully on Sunday February 8, 2026, following a brief illness, surrounded by his devoted family.
Born September 14, 1967, in Waterbury, CT to Raymond Henry Kuharski, Sr. and the late June (Baillargeon) Kuharski, Raymond grew up in Cheshire and spent most of his time there. He attended Norton Elementary School and Dodd Junior High School, then attended Wilcox Tech School in Meriden, CT where he received a Diploma in a 5-year course in a Tool and Die trade. After graduation he owned and operated a successful Lawn Business known as Ray’s Mowing where he had many customers who were fond of his Landscaping Services.
In 2021, Raymond relocated to Vernon, CT to be closer to his sister Deborah Ann Richard. It was there that he met many new friends such as Joanne, Alan and Dave as well as many others and began a new chapter. Raymond loved the outdoor sports and nature activities (gardening and birds), but his favorite by far was fishing. He leaves behind a sister, Deborah Richard and her husband Claude Richard (Stafford Springs), father, Raymond Henry Kuharski, Sr. and his wife Linda Kuharski (Central Florida), a niece, Ashley Richard, nephew, Marc Richard(Stafford Springs), and other family and friends.
Raymond will be remembered as a kind, gentle, caring and generous man whose warmth touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. We want to thank the 4 Your Peace of Mind nurses of East Hartford, CT and Seabury Active Life Community nursing team of Bloomfield, CT who took care of Ray. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 9:00 A.M. at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Rd., Cheshire, CT.
