Raymond N. Newton's Obituary
Raymond N. Newton, 83, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Hartford on June 23, 1941, son of the late Julian and Margaret (Neff) Newton. Ray served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era on the USS Sabalo submarine, and spent his career working as a diesel mechanic at FINAST. He was a member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion in Stafford, the Stafford Fish & Game Club, St. Edward Church, and the USSVI Groton Base Holland Club, where he was inducted in 2011. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara (Ericksen) Newton; two daughters, Jennifer Schmidt and her husband Timothy, and Kristen Mordavsky and her husband Michael; three grandchildren, Sophie, Michael and Joseph Mordavsky; his beloved Yellow Lab, Cooper; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Julian “Bud” Newton, and Craig Newton. His memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
