Richard Garner's Obituary
Richard R. Garner, 64, of Wilbraham Rd., Monson, MA, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He was born in Springfield, MA, son of Dorothy (Vivier) Garner and the late Edward Garner. Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era and served in the Navy reserves for 25 years. He retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Correction as a maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed dog shows, breeding, and was a member of the South Windsor Kennel Club. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Kathy (Hunter) Garner; four children, Richard, Eric, Trish, and Sarah Garner; five step children, John McCormick, Samuel and Michael Prentiss, Kellie Flint, and Sandie Prentiss; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Edward, Jr., William, and Dennis Garner; sister-in-law, Susan Garner; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 12-2 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 2 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
