Richard A. Hamer's Obituary
Richard A. Hamer, 88, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born in Methuen, MA, son of the late Norman and Mildred (Cookson) Hamer. He worked at Carris Reels for many years, and was a member of the Crystal Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the Civil Air Patrol. His favorite pastime was playing bingo, for which he would travel the area to play. Richard is survived by his three children, Pamela Ostrout and her husband Wayne, Tammy Scussel and her husband Michael, and Lee Hamer and his wife Heidi; three grandchildren, Corey Ostrout, Michael Ostrout, and Jordan Maurial and her husband Luis; sister, JoAnne West and her husband Dick; his companion, Linda C. Bennett; many stepchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two spouses, Shirley D. Hamer and Diane H. Hamer; and five siblings, Donna, Norman, Roy, Charles and Donald Hamer. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 4:00 PM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow the service at West Stafford Cemetery, 15 Chestnut Hill Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
