Richard E. McQuaid's Obituary
Richard E. McQuaid, 87, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Hugh and Olivine (Trombley) McQuaid. Rich served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation as an equipment inspector. He was the oldest living Charter member of the West Stafford Fire Department, along with being a member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, and the Stafford Senior Center. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, and being outdoors hunting and camping. Rich is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elaine (Moulton) McQuaid; three children, Cindy Works and her husband Gerald, Richard S. McQuaid and his wife Karen, and Tracey Harrelson; two grandsons, Nicholas Works and his wife Danielle, and Colin McQuaid; brother, Kenneth McQuaid and his wife Carolyn; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Hugh and William McQuaid; and sister, Sally Constantino. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
