Richard L. Oloff's Obituary
Richard L. Oloff, 68, of Stafford, CT, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was born in Norwich, CT, son of the late Richard H. and Catherine (Falman) Oloff. Rich was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Germany from 1974-1976. He retired as a welder from Electric Boat, and then worked part-time at Home Depot, and more recently at Willington Nameplate. He was also a member of the Stafford Fish and Game Club and Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff American Legion Post No. 26. Rich had a love for racing since he was a child. He inspired his grandson, Brayden, to become a racer and was his biggest fan. Rich had worked as a crew member on various Late Model, Busch North (Martin Truex, Jr. team), and Modified Tour teams. He always looked forward to hunting in the Fall, vacationing to Maine, going to Williams Grove Speedway in the Summer, and driving his prize 1966 yellow Chevy Nova. Rich is survived by his loving wife, Janet (Charland) Oloff; children, Marsha Cirrito, Mike Cirrito, Kendra Martelle, Jeff Such and his wife Angie, Keri Egan, and Eric Egan; grandchildren, Caitlin Martelle, Ryan Murallo, Tayler Mae Cirrito, Angelina Mardirosian, Brayden, Kailynn, and Addison Egan, and Xavier Jennings; great grandchildren, Tyler and Madelyn Murallo; sister, Nancy Gandolfo and her husband Tom; mother-in-law, Jeannette Charland; brother-in-law, Edward Charland; his beloved furbabies, Brandy and Kaylee; and numerous cousins and friends. The family would like to thank the Smilow Cancer Center nurses and staff (7th Floor) for all their care and kindness. Also, to Mary the 4th Floor receptionist for her kindness always. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with a prayer service to take place at 12:00 PM, at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Military Honors will conclude the service. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
