Richard E. Schweitzer Jr.'s Obituary
Richard E. Schweitzer, Jr., 64, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Springfield, MA on March 25, 1957. Rick worked as a lab technician for Phoenix Environmental Labs. Rick loved music. It was a big part of his life. From Carribean Christmas to Grateful Dead. He loved spending time with his family and his dogs. He loved animals. He was an avid Cowboys Fan. He loved going camping, hiking, kayaking and traveling. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife. His love for her was like no other. He was an amazing guy who was always thinking of others until the very end. He had a constant smile and always looked on the bright side of life. Rick was the most caring man. The world needs more of him. Those who knew him loved him. He was the true meaning of a man, a brother, a father, a son, a husband and a friend. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jill (Avery) Schweitzer; four children, Amy Gagne and her husband Joe, Joseph Schweitzer, Carrie Hicking and her husband Jason, and Valerie Dondero; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Savannah, Rianne, Brooke, Brandon, Jaycee, and Colin; his mother, Anna King and her husband James; nine siblings, Jackie Pugliese and her husband Robbie, Fran Fluckiger and her husband Mark, Cheryl King, James King, Jr., Laura Turner and her husband Dave, and Lisa, Sarah, Dustin, and Lauren Schweitzer; special friends, Sandra King, Debora Rodrigues, and Samantha King; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Richard E. Schweitzer, Sr.; three siblings, Joseph King, Patricia King, and David Schweitzer; and his best friend, Dave Turner. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 2-4 P.M., with a funeral service to take place at 4 P.M., at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
