Richard Wilson's Obituary
Richard G. Wilson, 79, of Ruby Rd., Willington, CT, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 at Windham Community Memorial Hospital, Windham, CT. He was born in Stafford, CT, son of the late Leroy and Catherine (Becker) Wilson. Richard took great enjoyment in fly fishing and fishing for bass. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Evelyn (Newman) Wilson; his two wonderful children, Douglas Wilson and his wife Crystal of Windsor Locks, CT, and Victoria Sapoznik and her husband James of Manchester, NH; five beautiful grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Samantha, Alex, and Sondra; two sisters, Gloria Hunter and her husband Judson of Willington, CT, and Joyce Safranek and her husband Clifford of Coventry, CT; a brother, Roger Wilson and his wife Marlene of Willington, CT; his nephew and old fishing buddy, Stuart Klotzer; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 A.M. at the Federated Church of Willington at Willington Hill, (corner of Rte. 74 and 320), Willington, CT. Burial will follow in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT. Memorial donations may be made to the Willington Hill Fire Department, Old Farms Rd., Willington, CT 06279, where Richard was one of the original members.
