Richard Ziemba's Obituary
Richard L. Ziemba, 75, of Vernon, CT, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Adolph and Apolonia (Grabrowski) Ziemba. Rich served in the U.S. Army, and had worked as a tool and die maker for Paramont Machine. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Worker's Federal Credit Union for more than 20 years. Rich is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Jachim) Ziemba; two children, Lynn Fortunato and her husband Col. Paul Fortunato of Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, and Richard Ziemba of Storrs, CT; four grandchildren, Christopher and Leah Fortunato, and Zachary and Abigail Ziemba; three sisters-in-law, Jacquelin Davis and her husband Fred of Enfield, CT, Anita Davis of Tolland, CT, and Eileen Zdanis of Manchester, CT; two special friends, John Hurchala and Pedro Munoz; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Paula (Chenail) Ziemba. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 9-10:30 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT.
