Robert A. Hipsky Sr.'s Obituary
Robert A. Hipsky, Sr., 81, of Willington, CT, husband of the late Caroline (Kotrba) Hipsky, passed away at home on April 25, 2024. Born on October 29, 1942 in Stafford Springs to the late Andrew and Catherine (Halcheck) Hipsky, Robert attended Windham Technical High School. Robert married his high school sweetheart, Caroline, on June 16, 1962 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Stafford. They remained in Willington where they raised their three children and celebrated 58 wedding anniversaries together before Caroline passed away in 2020. A talented and skilled master carpenter, Robert was employed by Skopek Brother’s Construction for thirty years. Robert built his own home as well as multiple barns on his property for the De-La-Ro Goat Dairy where he and Caroline raised purebred Toggenburg and Nubian dairy goats for forty-one years. Early mornings and late nights were spent in the barn caring for the goats and on summer weekends Robert chauffeured his family in a van full of goats all over New England to fairs and goat shows. In retirement, Robert enjoyed woodworking, reading, and putting together complicated puzzles. Robert was a hard-working, quiet, and selfless man who will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Robert is survived by his daughters, Denise Gugliotti and her husband Daniel, Laurie Hipsky and her husband Jan Dybdahl, a son Robert Hipsky, Jr., 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a sister Audrey Giampapa, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Andrew Hipsky, Jr. and his sister Dorothy Tonoli. Burial will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Introvigne Funeral Home, Stafford Springs.
