Robert Pruitt's Obituary
Robert J. Pruitt, 63, of Stafford Springs, CT, died peacefully January 17, 2011 at his home after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born April 29, 1947 in Statesboro, GA, the son of the late Fleming S. Pruitt and Sarah (Peavy) Pruitt. Bob served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1980 with multiple tours of duty in Vietnam, Korea, Panama, and Germany, as well as at several posts in the US, including the privilege of serving as an instructor at the NCO Academy in Grafenwoehr, Germany. His final assignment with the Army was as a computer analyst, which became his civilian career for twenty years. His clients included several major firms in the Washington, D.C. area as well as the U.S. Courts System. After his retirement and relocation to Connecticut, he enjoyed working in the outdoors, training and playing with the family dogs, and traveling, especially to visit Disney World with friends and family members. He is survived by his beloved daughter Tonya Pruitt of Ashburn, VA; and his wife and partner of 32 years, Anne (McQuaid) Caluori. He was a caring and loving man, who will be sorely missed by his many friends and extended family. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Bob has asked that you consider making a memorial donation to the ASPCA or to the Army’s Wounded Warrior Project. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com
