We were neighbors of Robin's for 19 years. Robin was always ready for a friendly chat as we saw each other on our daily walks up and down our road, or visiting in our yards. She was keenly interested in the arrival of our grand babies, watching their progress as they grew, and delighting in presenting them with small "stuffies" she picked up in her travels. Robin also was committed to helping people and animals in need,, the environment, and our town, tirelessly advocating for the things she cared about. She was a woman of deep faith, too, and a strong believer in the power of prayer. On 9/11/2001, I was painting our house, having just purchased it that June. When the first plane hit, Robin called me, a newcomer, and home alone that day. We began to pray-- for the world, our country, and the people. We have prayed together many times since that day, so I have no doubt that Robin is happy and at peace, as she is home. I will miss her letters, and her phone calls, and seeing her in person. But I am glad that my family and I were able to call her Friend.
Our condolences to Karen, and everyone who was able to share her life.
