Roger Hatch's Obituary
Roger Andrews Hatch, 88 of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband for 63 years of Lucy (Campbell) Hatch, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Stafford on May 2, 1921, son of the late Royal Bliss and Ruth (Andrews) Hatch. Roger lived in Stafford his entire life growing up on the family dairy, Mapleshade Farm. He graduated from Stafford High School class of 1939. He delivered milk for Sealtest and for 25 years worked for the State of Connecticut at Osborn's Prison Farm as a Correctional Industrial Supervisor. He was a lifelong member of Stafford Baptist Church serving as a deacon and president. He was a 64 year mason of Wolcott Lodge #60 AF & AM and served as worshipful master and treasurer. During his retirement he volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Stafford Historical Society, Stafford Senior Center, and former sexton of Hillside Cemetery. He loved being outdoors and especially loved gardening. He was a fan of UCONN Huskies basketball and the Boston Red Sox baseball teams. During his retirement he enjoyed extensive traveling. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Alan Hatch of Stafford Springs, CT and Brian Hatch and his wife Nancy of Vernon, CT; a daughter Ruthanne Talamini and her husband Michael of Stafford Springs, CT; and four grandchildren, Rollie, James, Angeline and Eric. He is also survived by a brother Harold Hatch; a sister Winifred Horsman; and a sister-in-law Marcia Hatch. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Maro Hatch; and a sister Grace Heck. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11 A.M. at the Stafford Baptist Church, Leonard Rd., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Monday from 4-8 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 7 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
