We share the Laskow family’s sadness at Roger’s passing, and we mourn his loss with them. He took great pride in his family, and we saw many examples of his devotion to them and love for them. We knew Roger well as one of the pillars of the Sonquipaug Association, a community of people who own small homes in Rhode Island. He was ever attentive to the needs of his neighbors there, often taking on maintenance tasks or emergency work when he saw the need, and doing much of the work with his own hands. When we first met him and Ann, more than thirty years ago, they were among the first people to welcome us, and over the course of our friendship, he was unfailing in his willingness to help with whatever we needed, whenever we needed it. We will always remember him as open-hearted and energetic, a man who lived life with verve and gusto, one of the great people we’ve been lucky enough to know. We will cherish the memory of his smile, his voice, and his personality. He was one of a kind.
