Roger R. Slye's Obituary
Roger R. Slye, 64, formerly of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born February 8, 1950 in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Richard H. and Ethelynn “Betty” (Curtis) Slye. Roger served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Army’s 305th Signal Battalion and served in Seoul Korea from 1970 – 1971. He was also formerly employed by Maple Tire Center. Roger was a member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, and served a term as president of the residents’ council at Blair Manor. He loved sports, was an enthusiastic New York Yankees fan, and an avid reader. Rogers is survived by his sister, Linda LaBell of Florida; niece, Tina Folsom and her husband Brad of Georgia; two great nieces, Madison and Lauren; three cousins, Margaret Colavecchio of Canton, CT, Donna Palmer of Manchester, CT, and Larry Palmer of California, along with their partners, children, and grandchildren. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
