Ronnie DaRos' Obituary
Lelio “Ronnie” DaRos, 89, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014. He was born in Staffordville, CT, son of the late Marino and Maria (Lazzaris) DaRos. Ronnie was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army Air Corps, and had retired as a foreman from the former Stafford Printers. He was a member or affiliated with various organizations: the Stafford Baptist Church where he held several offices, Stafford Historical Society, Stafford Senior Center, former Treasurer of the Staffordville Cemetery Association, former Director of the Stafford Housing Authority, past board member and president of the Worker’s Federal Credit Union, and one of the founding members of the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Stafford. He was also an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking, was a lifetime New York Yankees fan, and liked to watch UConn Basketball. But most of all, he appreciated spending time with his family. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Esther (Goodell) DaRos; four children, Kevin DaRos and his wife Linda, Lorin DaRos and his wife Anne, Doreen Moulton and her husband Leslie, and Gail Metsack and her husband Stephen; five grandchildren, Andy DaRos and his wife Amy, Laura DaRos, Brian DaRos and his wife Liz, and Tyler and Cameron Metsack; great grandson, Kyle DaRos; brother-in-law, Sam Tripoli; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Beverly and John Ference, and Diane and Richard Whitehouse; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three siblings, Armide “Mike” DaRos, Raissa Tripoli, and Leo DaRos. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Staffordville Cemetery, Staffordville, CT. Calling hours are on Monday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lelio “Ronnie” DaRos Fund, Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Stafford, c/o Rose Roszczewski, P.O. Box 25, Stafford Springs, CT 06076, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff members at Johnson Memorial Hospital and Evergreen Health Care Center for all the care and attention they gave to Ronnie.
