Roswell L. Irish Jr.'s Obituary
Roswell L. Irish, Jr., 72, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Roswell and Jane (Rogers) Irish. Rod was hard working at building and remodeling houses, as well as woodworking. He built and ran a successful machining business with his son Matthew and enjoyed working with him for 10 years. Rod loved the ocean in Florida, enjoyed chasing the waves and sitting on the beach. He loved Christmas, the Christmas trees, and the decorations. He also loved all the Christmas carols. We always enjoyed riding around seeing the displays of lights during Christmas. He loved watching and playing golf. A lot of memories were made with the kids camping, boy scouts, baseball and football. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. Roswell is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Sullivan) Irish; five children, Melissa Bragdon and her husband Roger, Nicole Kopek, Matthew Irish and his wife Stacie, Mark Squires and his wife Danielle, and Brian Squires; eleven grandchildren; two siblings, Melvin Irish and his wife Judy, and Charlotte Burkey and her husband Bill; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Rodney Irish; and two sisters, Patricia Griffin and Roslyn Foley.
