My memory of a great guy named Roy always was a smiling customer at Skoras Barber Styling Shop. Laughing and talking to customers waiting to get their haircut. What a joy he was to talk to. Holly

I was so sad to read of the passing of my long-time friend, Roy. We go back a very long way - both born in January, 1932 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, went all through elementary and high school together, played on all of Willington's ball teams (Roy and I were ALWAYS the guards on the basketball teams), both went to work at UCONN after Windham High School, both went into the service in the Korean War (Roy-Navy, Myself -Army), both back to UCONN after war - Roy to work, myself as a student. After 1950, I left Willington, teaching in East Hartford, the UK, and finally at Keene State College in New Hampshire - retiring in 1998. I would stop to visit with Roy any time i came back to visit my parents - who, before their passing, still lived about 1/2 from Roy's home. We had great chats about the "old days" in Willington. For Roy's family, please accept my most sincere sympathy.

Our neighbor. Although we never met I have admired the man for years. Such a beautiful and well kept home. Always enjoyed the view of the brightly colored birdhouses lining his property, seeing this man walk the walkway he mowed often along with his cat! I was never able to pass his home without glancing to the side to view his field. All of the various wildlife would congregate there. I drove by yesterday and there were eight deer standing in his field. Seems he lived a wonderful life. His presence will be sadly missed.
