Russell Upton,'s Obituary
Russell J. Upton, Jr., 69, of Spak Rd., Willington, CT, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at St. Joseph Living Center in Willimantic, CT. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late Russell J., Sr. and Alice (Strogoff) Upton. He retired from Stroehmann's Bakery as a wholesale bakery worker. Russell was very proud that, along with his father and father-in-law, he had built his own home. He enjoyed going to stock car races, playing cards, John Wayne, Doris Day, and Elvis movies, and socializing with his friends and family. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carmella T. Upton of Willington, CT, a daughter and son-in-law, Debora and Scott Karns of Arizona; a son, Russell J. Upton III and his fiance Eileen Ignazio of Willington, CT, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gail Benjamin of New Britain, CT, and Barbara and Jack Amaral of Manchester, CT, and two nieces and one nephew, Jodi Barnett of East Hartford, CT, Melissa Jablon of New Britain, CT, and Michael Benjamin of New Britain, CT. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
