Ruth Amende's Obituary
Ruth B. AmEnde, 90, of Buckley Highway, Union, CT, wife of the late Robert A. AmEnde, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2007 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mansfield, CT. She was born in Orange, CT, daughter of the late Otto C. and Ruth E. (Holtsizer) Broll. Ruth retired from the Stafford Conservatories as an office manager after over 35 years of service. She was a Consulting Committee member for the Town of Union to the Rockville Regional Vocational Agricultural School, serving on the committee for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Congregational Church of Union, the Vernon Grange #52, serving as secretary for over 50 years, member of the North Central Pomona Grange #13 and former secretary for over 30 years, and past Connecticut State Grange Deputy and Junior Deputy. Ruth is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta B. AmEnde and Timothy T. Spaulding of Union, CT. Funeral services with burial in Union Center Cemetery, Union, CT, will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Union Volunteer Fire Department, Buckley Highway, Union, CT 06076.
