Shirley M. Beffa-Negrini's Obituary
Shirley Mae Beffa-Negrini, age 91, of Stafford Springs, CT, died June 1, 2026, in her hometown. Born December 22, 1934, Shirley was the daughter of the late John and Jennie Goryl. Shirley graduated from Stafford High School, Class of 1952.
She worked for Johnson Insurance Agency in Manchester for twenty years and the Tolland County Insurance Agency in Stafford for twelve years. She retired in 1997.
Loving all kinds of animals, she especially found pleasure in feeding birds out on her porch. Gardening, traveling (Alaska, Egypt, Greece, Canada, and the Caribbean), shopping, and being a warm hostess to friends and family were some of her joys. Shirley enjoyed a good conversation, had a quick wit, and shared her great sense of humor. She rarely missed watching a UConn Women’s Basketball game.
Shirley was a member of St. Edward’s Church, the Stafford Senior Center, and served as member and past president of the Manchester VFW Aux. Post 2046. She also volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Edward Stickney, her sister Lorraine Satkowski, her brother Robert Goryl, and nephew Rev. Richard Satkowski. In 1984, she married Dante Beffa-Negrini. Besides her husband, Shirley is survived by her stepson David Beffa-Negrini and his wife Patricia of Nelson, NH; daughter-in-law Suzanne Connah, wife of the late Duane Beffa-Negrini of Stafford Springs; a niece Lynn Pariseau and her husband Stephen of Westfield, MA; a niece-in-law Lucie Satkowski of Holland, MA; and grand-nieces Krysta Anderson and Laura Ricciardis, and grand-nephew Philip Satkowski.
A private family service will be held to honor Shirley’s life, with burial in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
