Shirley C. Salsbury's Obituary
Shirley C. Salsbury, 95, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Arthur H. Salsbury, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Howard and Edith (Ryan) Crandall. She was a graduate of Stafford High School and attended the Hartford Academy of Hairdressing. Shirley retired from the State of Connecticut and then drove school bus for many years after. She was a member of the Second Congregational Church of Stafford at West Stafford for over 75 years, belonged to the Wales Amateur Theater Group, and delivered Meals on Wheels. She also volunteered at many town events throughout the years. Shirley enjoyed swimming, ice skating, skiing with the grandchildren, and sledding with great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, David Salsbury, Duane Salsbury, Craig Salsbury, and Cheryl Kilcollins and her husband Barry; daughter-in-law, Margaret Salsbury; grandchildren, Lisa Hearn and her husband Tom, Jennifer Regis and her husband Rob, and Bruce and Paul Salsbury; great grandchildren, Joshua, David, Allison, and Tyler; great-great granddaughter, Elizabeth; soon-to-be great-great granddaughter, Breelyn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters, Clair Richens, Jean Barton, and Elaine Scussel. Services with burial in West Stafford Cemetery, Stafford, CT, will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to the Second Congregational Church of Stafford at West Stafford, 197 West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
