Shirley M. Satkowski's Obituary
Shirley M. Satkowski, 89, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Edmund and Eula (Davis) Kunhardt. Shirley worked for her brother-in-law and sister-in-law at the Staffordville Insurance Agency for several years, and then spent many years working at the Worker’s Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed her friends and their sewing club and was a devoted fan of UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball and the Boston Red Sox. Above all, she loved her family and the time she was able to spend with them, especially family vacations with every generation. Shirley took great joy in making Sunday dinners for her family and extended family throughout the years. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Joseph Satkowski; two children, James Stevens and his wife Lilin, and Mary Tautic; daughter-in-law, Ann Satkowski; two grandchildren, Amy Dykstra and her husband Trey, and Timothy Satkowski and his wife Aimee; four great grandchildren, Ruby, Joey, Mia, and Jake; sister, Nancy Roberts; her beloved and devoted caregiver, Debbie; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David Satkowski; and her sister, Elaine Wochomurka. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Cemetery, West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
