Shirley Stanish's Obituary
Shirley W. (Todd) Stanish, 83, of Willington, CT, wife of the late Frank J. Stanish, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. She was born in Seat Pleasant, MD, daughter of the late Edward L. and Lillian M. (Bernard) Todd. She later moved to Connecticut in the 1940's. She met her husband Frank and was married in March 1949. She stayed at home to raise her children until she went to work for the Willimantic Trust Office in Storrs. In addition, she was a member of the Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol, Order of the Eastern Star Radiant Chapter #11 where she was a past Matron, member of the Willington Senior Center, and served on the Willington Senior Committee for several years. She will be greatly missed by her loving children, daughter, Pamela M. Stanish of Willington, CT, son, Douglas W. Stanish and his wife Roberta of Willington, CT, daughter, Sharon S. Stanish of Virginia; five loving grandchildren, Tate and Kyle Warren, Laura, Christopher, and Rebecca Stanish; and one great granddaughter, Kaylee Stanish; two sisters, Rita Elek of Florida and June Fazzina of New Hampshire; brother, Darrell E. Todd and his partner Alice Lavallee of Broad Brook, CT; and many other loving extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Frank J. Stanish III. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Shirley's life during calling hours on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 1:00-2:30 P.M. with a funeral service to be held at 2:30 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 279 New Britain Rd. Suite 5, Kensington, CT 06037. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for all of the effort and support that was given to their mother during her stay at Kimberly Hall North and South.
