Sophia Swift's Obituary
Sophia A. (Dunay) Swift, 79, of West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Omasta) Dunay. Sophia was a member of St. Edward Parish, former member of the Catholic Daughters, and choir singer at Saint Edward Church. She was also an active member of the Ladies Guild and Golden Tones singers. During the past 12 years, she coordinated the Stafford Senior Center's Congregate Meals program. She enjoyed working along side her dear friend, Laura Panciera, at the Senior and Youth Center. She enjoyed volunteering for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps holiday party and Willington Public Library's book sales. Her hobbies included: baking pies, gardening, playing cards, painting, knitting, reading, golfing, bird watching, and traveling. Sophia leaves behind her three children, daughter Roberta and husband Leo Passardi, Jr. of Willington, CT, son Richard Swift and his wife Jewel of Stafford Springs, CT, and daughter Marlene and husband David Bohadik of Tolland, CT; five sisters, Mary Dlubac, Marge Woytik, Elizabeth Pepin, Helen Cartier, and Kathryn Malack; a brother Mike Dunay; seven grandchildren, Melissa Talamini, Michele Syphers, Jeffrey Passardi, Shawn Swift, Timothy Bohadik, Christopher Swift and Alison Martin; nine great grandchildren, Brandon Swift, Madeleine Swift, Dylan Passardi, Dante Talamini, Ashley and Hayley Syphers, Natalia Talamini, Dawson Swift, and Jaden Swift; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Ann Turner; and two brothers, John and Joe Dunay. Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009, with a procession forming by 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
