To the Parizek Family - Sorry for your loss. I remember your mother and father, and always enjoyed their company. Your mom had a long, happy life and will be greatly missed.
I came to know Sophie when she worked in Accounts Payable at UConn. She was such a kind person who was always smiling. She had a great sense of humor and was very pleasant to be around.

I wanted to take a moment to sharesome heartfelt memories about Sophie, who felt like a second mother to me. Over the years, we spent countless hours talking, and she generously shared her deep knowledge about the world around her yard and pond- especially which plants and mushrooms were safe to eat and which to avoid. Her wisdom was truly remarkable. One of the things i cherished most was spending time with her in her gardens. She loved vegetable and flower gardens, always keeping everything so beautiful and welcoming. I was amazed by her strength and determination, whether she was moving large rocks or tending to her yard with such care. Beyond her practical skills, Sophie was a kind and loving presence but also incredibly strong and wise. She was always there to offer advice and a comforting word when needed. I will truly miss her warmth and guidance. Thank you for letting me share a little about someone who meant so much to me. All the memories the will never be forgotten. Gary A. Hunt
Sophie and I shared many laughs at the birds, shadows of the sun, and memories of the past that I will cherish always.
Our fondest memory is showing up from Maine and finding Sophie, in her 90’s then, in her back yard wrestling a huge rock in her garden with a crowbar!
