Stephen T. Swatik's Obituary
Stephen T. Swatik, 93, lifelong resident of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away in the home that he was born in on Friday, February 10, 2017. He was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mary E. (Lapotosky) Swatik. Steve served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict holding the rank of Corporal, and retired from Manchester Sand and Gravel as a truck driver. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Edward Church, where he also served as a Eucharistic minister. Steve was a member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, Rev. Felix J. O’Neil Knights of Columbus #1395, and Fourth Degree member of Rev. Bernard Mc Gurk Assembly Knights of Columbus #2190. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Connie (Calchera) Swatik; his sister, Margaret Britner; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Anna B. Hurchala, Joseph Swatik, and John Swatik. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, with a procession forming by 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Monday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
