Stephen Waskiewicz's Obituary
Stephen J. Waskiewicz, 62, of Groton, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 1, 2008 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, New London, CT. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Stephen J. and Bertha (Zegota) Waskiewicz. Steve was the beloved husband and soul mate of his wife, Sally Ann (Tozier) Waskiewicz. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Amy Waskiewicz; step daughter, Pamela Garcia; his four grandchildren; and nephew, Ryan Waskiewicz. He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald D. Waskiewicz. After serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era, Steve headed to Groton where he became a rigger at Electric Boat for over 25 years. He excelled at his work and was proud in taking part in the building of submarines. Steve appreciated the simple beauty of nature and took great pleasure in being at the seaside. One of his favorite places to meditate and relax was gazing out at the sound from Eastern Point Beach. Steve was also exceptional at home improvement and took great pride in his home. He enjoyed gardening and got sheer pleasure in doing yard work with his wife Sally. What a team he would say to himself! His funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 1 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 12 ' 1 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
