Susan M. (Smith) Oliphant, 74, of Statesville, NC and formerly of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on September 3, 2019. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Robert and Geraldine (Morrill) Smith. Susan is survived by her son, Jack Oliphant, Jr. and his wife Beth of Stafford Springs, CT; daughter, Lisa Benelisha and her husband Robert of Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Jessica Benelisha; great granddaughter, Lillian; four brothers, Robert Smith and his wife Jean of Stafford Springs, CT, Charles Smith of Vernon, CT, Timothy Smith and his wife Diane of South Carolina, and Daniel Smith of Stafford Springs, CT; three sisters, Geraldine Smith of Stafford Springs, CT, Cheryl St. Laurent of North Carolina, and Rosemary Gagnon and her husband Clifford of Somers, CT; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Dewey Smith; and sister, Bonnie Taylor. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Cemetery, West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
