Sydney R. Goodrich's Obituary
Sydney R. Goodrich passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He was 88 years old. Syd was predeceased by his parents, Neil E. and Alice (Latham) Goodrich, and his three brothers, John, Joseph, and Neil E., Jr. He was a lifelong resident of Willington, CT, and attended local schools. He joined the United States Air Force in 1947 and served six years. He was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation for many years as a purchasing services officer. After retiring from DOT, he then went to work at Ray-Tech Industries. Syd enjoyed raising home grown vegetables and even grew popcorn. He really enjoyed being a member of the Willington Senior Center, and loved playing cards and pool. Syd is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary (Svejk) Goodrich; two sons, Mark Goodrich and Julie, and Glenn Goodrich; and his two treasured granddaughters, Jillian and Isla Kate. There are no calling hours. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Willington Hill Cemetery, Tolland Turnpike (Rte. 74), Willington, CT. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements.
