Thomas R. Cavar's Obituary
Thomas R. Cavar, 78, of Willington, CT, husband of the late Geraldine M. (Allen) Cavar, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born in Stafford, CT, son of the late Joseph and Ida (Janowski) Cavar. Tom served our country in the United States Army National Guard, and retired from the State of Connecticut as a Welder. Puttering in his garden and yard was where he could be found on any warm day, with his Country music piping through from the house. An avid fisherman, Tom was forever looking for that big fish in some good fishing spot that he had heard about. A man of artistic and creative thinking, Tom was forever coming up with a project to create to simplify life. A true gentle and kind soul, which will be missed by many. Tom is survived by his three children, Gernan Johnson of Vernon, CT, Kathleen Hood and her husband Eric of Coventry, CT, and Thomas Cavar of Mansfield, CT; nine grandchildren, Sarah, Timothy, Andrew, David, Natasha, Tyler, Seth, Abigael, and Emaline; two great grandchildren, Karson and Greyson; brother, Joseph Cavar; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Cavar. Funeral services with burial in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT, will be held privately.
