Thomas Darling's Obituary
Rev. Thomas E. Darling, 73, of Staffordville, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at his home with his family. He was born in North Kingstown, RI, son of the late Robert and Annie (Burdick) Darling. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. He was pastor of the Staffordville Congregational Church for the past 15 years. He was also a former Boy Scout leader and ranger. Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Gail E. (Bastro) Darling of Staffordville, CT; his two children, Paul Darling and his wife Karen of Massachusetts, and Bethany Ash and her husband Damian of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Hailey, Liam, and Evelyn; a sister, Ann Hinkley and her husband Larry of Woodstock, CT; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Darling. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 3 P.M. at the Staffordville Congregational Church, East St. (Rte. 19), Staffordville, CT. Burial will follow in Staffordville Cemetery, Staffordville, CT. After the burial, everyone is invited to a reception at the church. At 6 P.M., family and friends are invited to share memories in celebration of Tom's life at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Staffordville Congregational Church, P.O.
