Thomas Fitzgerald's Obituary
Thomas L. Fitzgerald, 55, of Union, CT, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of Ann (Mattarelli) Fitzgerald-Rosi and the late Howard L. Fitzgerald. Tom was employed by Festi's Oil Service as a small engine mechanic. He was the former First Selectman and current Selectman for the Town of Union. He was a life member of Stafford Fire Department No. 1, past Assistant Chief, past President and current member of the Union Volunteer Fire Department, former Chairman of NECOG, member of the nominating committee for the Tolland County Mutual Aid Fire Service, member of the Connecticut Fireman's Association, the Union Historical Society, and was the Dog Warden for the Town of Union. Besides his mother, Tom is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Lee A. (Mancini) Fitzgerald; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Carol (Dennerley) Mancini; two nephews; and his two dogs, Tucker and Daphne. He was predeceased by his brother, Gregg Fitzgerald. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 5-8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial in Union Center Cemetery, Union, CT, will be held privately.
