Thomas V. Marshall's Obituary
Thomas Von Marshall of Hebron, CT, passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 65. Born in Claremont, NH, on December 17, 1957, to Carol E. Marshall and Annabelle Galbraith Marshall, Tom spent his early years there. He later moved to his mother’s hometown of Somers, CT, and then to Enfield and Hebron. A diligent employee who proved his many naysayers wrong, Tom worked for the Dartmouth Woolen Mill in Claremont and Tyco and Walgreens in Connecticut. Tom returned to school as an adult learner, earning a high school diploma in 2002 from the Enfield Adult High School. Tom loved all-things mechanical, especially tractors and trains. The night sky intrigued him, and he delighted in observing the stars and all things heavenly with his prize possession, a telescope. He enjoyed listening to classical organ music, visiting museums, attending town fairs, and discussing the news of the day with family and friends. Tom was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his brother Tyrone W. Galbraith Marshall and sister-in-law Brenda DeVore Marshall of McMinnville, OR, cousin, confidant, and advocate extraordinaire, Claudia Couch Steele and her husband Richard of Vernon, CT, cousin, and partner in adventuring Loretta “Lori” Couch Dunnebier of Johnson City, TN, many cousins in the Marshall and Galbraith extended families, and his found family—the staff, and residents of Colebrook Village in Hebron, CT. Graveside services will be held at the Somers West Cemetery on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 1:00 P.M., followed by a reception at Joanna’s restaurant in Somers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity. Rest in peace dearest Tom. May your gentle soul always fly among the stars on the wings of angels. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements. To leave a condolence online for the family, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com
