Timothy R. Ruot's Obituary
Timothy Robert Ruot, born July 12, 1959, passed into the arms of nature on April 25, 2026. Previously of Enfield, CT, Tim most recently relocated back to Connecticut after spending over a decade in Suffolk, VA. To celebrate retirement, he turned his focus on restoring a historic Revolutionary-era homestead where he could enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
Fearless in spirit, Tim worked for decades as a Communications Technician for Northeast Towers, regularly scaling and maintaining broadcast towers, fully dedicating himself to his work and his team.
His passions revolved around the outdoors: hiking, camping, traveling and embracing the beauty of the world around us. A tinkerer at heart, Tim was always pouring efforts into another project or piece of equipment. He was equally as committed to family through his bond with his loving wife of 16 years, Robin Lawrence, who was his partner in exploration to mountains, forests, deserts, oceans, and open skies. He eventually assumed the role of Papa, providing endless games of “airplane” and boundless fun with his grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Tim is survived by stepchildren Ashley and her husband Mike Settle, Chelsea and her husband Matt Schonvisky, and Dylan and his wife Lindsay Lawrence; his brother Jim Ruot, and grandchildren Lauren, Allison, Claire, Emily, Liam, Wesley and Blair, among other loving family and friends. Tim is predeceased by his father, Robert Ruot and mother Margaret (née) Latulipe, and siblings Phyllis Kropp and Patricia Boucher.
