Trudy Dufresne's Obituary
Trudy Dufresne, 61, of Ashford, CT, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by friends and family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Staveren, Friesland, Netherlands, daughter of the late Harold and Janet (Bushma) Couperus. Trudy was an animal lover and had worked as an animal care technician at the University of Connecticut. She was a member of the Westford Congregational Church, and enjoyed knitting and gardening. Trudy is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gerald E. Dufresne; three sons, Dirk Dufresne and his wife Concetta, Gerald E. Dufresne, Jr., and James Dufresne; four grandchildren, Zachary, Madeline, Natasha, and Blake; five siblings, James Couperus and his wife Vern, Shirley Leno and her husband Tim, Jean Remein and her husband Jack, Arthur Couperus, and Bartholomew Couperus; several nieces and nephews; and her companion, Ruff. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Couperus. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Her funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 10 A.M. at the Westford Congregational Church, 368 Westford Hill Rd., Ashford, CT.
