Tyler Linsly Simpson's Obituary
Tyler Linsly Simpson, 37, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away in the comfort of his home and surrounded by family on Monday, June 6, 2022 after fighting a valiant battle against malignant melanoma. He was born on February 10, 1985 in Norwalk, CT, son of Leigh (Holmes) Mottes and Eliakim Hall Linsly Simpson. Tyler was a kind, loving, thoughtful and gentle soul. He grew up in Ridgefield, CT, graduating from Ridgefield High School in 2003. He obtained a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH. He enjoyed listening to music, reading books, carving spoons from wood, crafting knives from scrap metal, hiking, fishing, barbequing and cooking. He was an accomplished self-taught musician on guitar, banjo and didgeridoo! Tyler was mostly a home-body, but had enjoyed trips to England, Scotland, Australia, the Pacific Northwest and New England. He loved the simple life with his wife and two dogs. Growing up, he enjoyed spending summers on Lake Nubanusit and camping on Spoonwood Pond in NH. He played a mean game of darts, only topped by his Granddad. He had a passion for motorcycles and loved riding his Harley Davidson Streetglide. He and his wife had hopes of traveling the U.S. on two wheels, but his dreams were cut short by his diagnosis in August 2019. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him! Tyler is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Panciera) Simpson; his parents, Leigh Mottes and her husband Tim; his father, Eliakim (Kim) Simpson and his wife Kristen Johnson; his sister, Ashley Reeves Clark and her husband Jamie Clark, along with their son Owen Linsly Clark; his grandmother, Glyn R. Holmes; many uncles, aunts and cousins in CT, MA and the U.K.; and his fur babies, Nyla and Gemini. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Brian E. Holmes, Norma Simpson and Josiah Simpson.
