Van A. Yencha's Obituary
Van A. Yencha, 73, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Stafford Springs, son of the late John and Claire (Freemen) Yencha. Van worked at Baker’s Furniture in Stafford for 30 years, and upon retirement he worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital, where he played Santa Claus for the employees children’s Christmas party. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family. Van is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Karen (Andrelski) Yencha; two children, Lisa Barstow and her husband David, and Mitchell Yencha and his wife Maria; four grandchildren, Melanie Sanford, Jake Yencha, Rachel Yencha, and Luke Barstow; a great grandchild, Cordelia Sanford; his sister, Denise Arney and her husband David; and his niece and nephew, Josh and Heather. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be private.
