Dear Jeannie, John and family:
Tom and I are sadden to hear of the loss of your mother, yet it brought back such warm and fond memories of the time she shared a room at Evergreen with our dear mother, Dorothy Blackwood. Dorothy felt closer to Velma than any other roommate she had thereafter, and was never the same after Velma was moved. I will never forget the time I pushed Mom in a wheelchair to visit your mom in her room. Since they were both hard of hearing, they carried on 2 seperate conversations, each thinking that the other was hearing her own conversation and answering appropriately. They would look at each other, laugh an continue to answer the other as if they knew exactly what they were talking about. I had to laugh inside, it was so delightful. But they just loved each others' company and it was enough to just be together.
How fitting that your Mom passed on Valentine's Day, such a sweetheart she was, and at the same age as Dorothy. Now they will see each other again.
Sincere Sympathy,
Tom and Dee Blackwood
