Vera S. Marko's Obituary
Vera S. Marko, 96, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late John Marko, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. She was born in Racine, WI, daughter of the late James and Anna (Holly) Kana. Vera retired from the former Warren Woolen Company after 22 years. She was a dedicated UConn Women’s and Men’s basketball fan, and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and NASCAR. Vera had a huge vegetable garden which she enjoyed and shared with her family and friends. She also enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower beds. Vera loved baking and cooking, her breads and chocolate chip cookies were her favorites. Others hobbies included knitting afghans for the family and the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, crossword puzzles, reading, tag sales, and walks in the woods. Vera is survived by her daughter, Judith Titus and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Jamie Murray and her husband Adam, Thomas Marko and his wife Adreena, and Dawn Titus; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Tyler Murray, Ashley and Brittaney Titus, and Gabriel and Maliki Marko; great, great granddaughter, Ava; sister, Betty Mottes and her husband Bill; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert J. Marko; grandson, Robert A. Titus, Jr.; and siblings, John Kana, Christine Gaulin, and Anna Mae Hockla. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 AM, with a funeral service to take place at 11:00 AM, at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
