Veronica A. Tremko's Obituary
Veronica A. (Mihaliak) Tremko, 93, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Evergreen Health Care Center. She was born in Willington, CT, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Malinak) Mihaliak. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Michael J. Tremko in 2018. She grew up on the Mihaliak Farm in Willington, and attended the local schools, having graduated from Windham High School. Veronica worked briefly at the mill in Stafford until her husband, Michael, joined the Air Force. She loved her whole family, especially the children. She had a true love of nature, especially gardening her plants and flowers. She also loved animals and birdwatching, and was known for taking care of all kinds of wild creatures. She greatly enjoyed cooking and baking as well. She loved going to the beach with her family, and all the trips they made, especially to Aruba, the Bahamas, Hawaii, and the numerous trips to the casino. Veronica is survived by her four children, Veronica D. Introvigne and her husband Joseph of Stafford Springs, CT, William M. Tremko and his wife Laura of West Hartford, CT, Debra L. Smith and her husband Brian of Tolland, CT, and Linda M. Barno and her husband Thomas of Stafford Springs, CT; nine grandchildren, Joseph Introvigne, Jr. and his wife Kristin, Sara Kelley and her husband Stephen, Michael Introvigne and his wife Alessandra, Erica Tremko and her fiancé Jack Charter, Steven Tremko-Bellante, Kevin Tremko-Bellante, Jonathan Smith, Daniel Garrell and Vladimir (Nathan) Tremko; six great grandchildren, Megan, Joseph, Luke, Alba, Michael and Giuliana; three sisters, Ann Favreau of Auburn, MA, Margaret Harrison of Willington, CT and Mildred Wajdula of Springfield, MA; sister-in-law, Gabrielle “Ella” Lazzerin of Stafford Springs, CT, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Andrew, John, William and Joseph Mihaliak; three sisters, Mary Wojtowicz, Rose Pavuk and Helen Bushey; and nephew, Bradley Bushey. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Evergreen Health Care Center and Athena Hospice for the wonderful care given to our mother. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, with a procession forming at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow at St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
