Victoria C. Tonoli's Obituary
Victoria Charlotte Tonoli, age 98, peacefully passed over on April 29, 2017 at Evergreen Health Care Center. Victoria was a life-long resident of Stafford Springs, CT, born to Italian parents Emilio and Giovanna (Fontanella) Cini. She graduated from Stafford High School and worked first as a nanny, then as a telephone operator, and finally for a number of years as an examiner at the Stafford Printers. Following retirement, she volunteered at a local church food pantry and in the laundry of Johnson Memorial Hospital. Vicki was a member of Saint Edward parish, enjoyed reading, bird watching, knitting, and crafts of chair caning and stenciling. She was an expert pie baker. She loved the sun and salt water of summer vacation days at Connecticut and Rhode Island ocean beaches. She will most be remembered for her kind heart and the love and devotion she showed to her children, extended family, and friends. She showed strength as a single mom, raising two children well and providing them with all the tools necessary to succeed in life. She had strong faith in the power of prayer; the rosary was often her way of ending an evening. Victoria was predeceased by brother, Silvio Cini, and three sisters, Flora Marin, Lillian Gnutti, and Irma Campo. She leaves behind her son, Tom Tonoli and wife Jean of Fort Collins, CO, daughter, Frances Tonoli of Manchester, CT, granddaughters, Lauren Tonoli Patton and husband Matt of Fort Collins, CO, and Annie Tonoli Mertaugh and husband Ryan of Jackson, WY, great-granddaughter, Claire Patton, nieces, Jane Gregonis of Tolland, CT, Rae DelBarba of Feeding Hills, MA, and Lisa Hendricks of Wilmington, NC, and nephew, Jonathan Campo of Willimantic, CT. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Evergreen Health Care Center and the Athena Hospice team for their support and compassionate care. A celebration of Victoria's life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Evergreen Health Care Center chapel, 205 Chestnut Hill Rd., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donations made in Victoria's name to St. Edward Church, 6 Benton St., Stafford Springs, CT 06076. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com
