Vilma Duhansky's Obituary
Vilma (Hipsky) Duhansky, loving wife of 70 years to the late Alexander Duhansky, Jr., passed away on September 28, 2012 at the age of 98. She was born in Alberta, Canada on May 4, 1914, daughter of the late Jon and Katarina (Rusnakova) Hipsky. She was a long time resident of Willington, CT. Vilma was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Stafford Springs, CT, where she was a member of The Ladies Aid Society for many years. Vilma was also a member of the Willington Senior Center. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends with dinner parties. She excelled at taking care of her home. She enjoyed crewel work, and gardening, always generously providing family and friends with fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed traveling, visiting many States and Canada. Vilma was very proud when she became a United States citizen and voted in every election. Vilma is survived by her two devoted daughters, Diana L. McVicker and her husband Dennis of East Hartford, CT, and Jean V. Johnson and her husband Seth of Southampton, MA; five loving grandchildren, Holly D. McVicker, Sharon E. Mann and her husband David, Bonnie L. Gibbons and her husband Tom, Alice J. McKeever and her husband Bob, and David S. Johnson and his wife Rebecca; nine cherished great grandchildren, Drazen, Lauren, and Ashley Mann, Heather and Hunter Gibbons, Morgan and Sarah McKeever, and Kayleigh and Alexa Johnson; sister-in-law, Olga Toth; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and great grandnieces and great grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Etty Hlasny, Mary Hipsky, Arline Parizek, Amelia Parizek, and Catherine Holda; and brothers, John Hipsky, Andrew Hipsky, Paul Hipsky, and Joseph Hipsky. Her family would like to thank Woodlake at Tolland, Dr. Harold Sandles, and Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut for the special care they gave to Vilma. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Church Service at 10 A.M. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, West Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
