Virginia "Gini" W. Guilmette's Obituary
Virginia “Gini” (Williams) Guilmette, 74, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Walter L. and Irene (Blazejovsky) Williams. Gini loved Stafford and she lived there her entire life. She made lifelong friends while attending St. Edward School and Stafford High School. She worked at Stafford Printers, Stafford Savings Bank, and she worked for the Town of Stafford in the Assessor’s Office for 24 years until her retirement in 2015. Gini was an active member of the Stafford Historical Society where she volunteered at the museum and helped with tag sale fundraisers. She also was a member of the Stafford Democratic Town Committee, working on campaigns, volunteering on Election Day, and passing out candy at Trick-or-Treat on Main St. Gini enjoyed Bunco parties with her girlfriends, meeting the YaYas for Wacky Wednesdays, traveling with the Bahama Mamas, long winter weekends in Wells, ME, and the annual week in August at Hampton Beach with friends. She spent many memorable vacations with her husband Gerry and her children, camping in the White Mountains, Lake Champlain, and Old Orchard Beach, a trip to Cape Cod, and very special visits to California for Ben and Catherine’s wedding and Maine for Amy and AJ’s wedding. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a loving wife, and a caring and loyal friend. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. Gini is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gerard Guilmette; three children, Amy Wilkins and her husband AJ, Erin Fredette and her husband Ken, and Ben Guilmette and his wife Catherine; nine grandchildren, Lucas, Zack, Ethan, Jack, Evan, Quincy, Charlie, and two adopted grandchildren; three siblings, Peter Williams and his wife Sheila, Michael Williams and his wife Joanne, and Paula Fagan and her husband Jay; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter L. Williams, Jr. and Thomas Williams. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:30–11:30 A.M., with a prayer service to take place at 11:30 A.M., at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held privately.
