Wayne P. Pisciotta's Obituary
Wayne P. Pisciotta, beloved husband of 57 years to Jean (Gachinsky) Pisciotta, passed away January 23, 2021 at his home. He was born in Stafford on October 10, 1943, son of the late Joseph Pisciotta and Dorothy (Garvais) Taylor. Wayne was a devoted father to his son, Wayne C. Pisciotta, and his daughter, Michelle Pisciotta. He was a loving grandfather to his two granddaughters, Rose-Anna Jean Ravetto and Audrey Helen Pisciotta. In his final week, he was able to hear Rose-Anna read her college application essay to him, which was all about how he, her Papa, had inspired her with all his endeavors to help others and was so very proud to learn of all her college acceptance letters. Audrey entertained him with her guitar, for which she has great passion and much talent. Hearing her playing and singing filled him with so much joy. Wayne is also survived by his brother, Dick Pisciotta and sister-in-law Ginny, his brother, Ron Pisciotta and sister-in-law Pat, his sister-in-law, Linda Pisciotta, many special cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by brothers Joseph and John, sister, Carol, and two very special aunts, Frieda and Monie. Wayne had a great love for our town of Stafford. One of his proudest moments was seeing his vision of Haymarket Common on Main Street become a reality. He enlisted his brother Ron and together with their longtime friend Allen Bacchiochi, they formed what they called The Civic Pride Commission which raised all the money privately from local businesses and donations from the community. Along with Wayne Williams of Skyline Quarry, who donated all the stone for the walls and the Dunay family, who donated many old stone walls used for support, they were able to build this beautiful park. Having many struggles in his teenage years, including hunger, Wayne was passionate about not wanting any child to experience the same pain. He always made donations to the food bank a top priority. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Town of Stafford Food Bank, 3 Buckley Highway, Stafford Springs, CT 06076. Wayne was a man of deep faith and was a communicant of St. Edward Church. Due to the current health pandemic, funeral services and burial in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements. To leave a condolence online for the family, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com
