Brenda,
Bill and I saddened to hear of Wayne's passing. He actually hired me as a teacher many years ago. I was also on the Middle School building committee for 10 years with him! I remember traveling to Hartford for a meeting with him and he was smoking his cigar. (This reminded me of my own Dad because he always smoked a cigar.) He was a very special person and did a lot for the Stafford Education program while he was the superintendent. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Bill and Janice Gowdy

Wayne was a special friend to the superintendents in our URSA group. We enjoyed our fellowship and appreciated one another's support in our challenges. He told me he had about the best of his jobs when he was close enough that he could go home and see his dog at lunch and have a break. I envied him that opportunity since we were often in the office for school days and meeting nights! Connie Berglund

Wayne--an interesting, thoughtful, talented man who handled a serious illness with dignity, courage and boundless optimism.I am saddened at the news of his death. My sincere sympathy to Brenda, partner and wonderful caregiver and his children, Christopher and Nicole. What a guy!
