William A. Madsen's Obituary
William “Bill” A. Madsen, 93, of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of 49 years to the late Jacqueline J. (Barnes) Madsen, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pawtucket, RI, son of the late William and Diana (Mailhot) Madsen. Bill was a volunteer fireman for the former Stafford Springs Fire Department and longtime EMT for Stafford Ambulance. He was also a crossing guard for many years. He worked in maintenance at Warren Woolen Company and then the Co-op Food Center until retirement. Bill was a wonderful, caring, loving husband and father, who loved his family very much. He had many friends, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed camping with his wife. He loved his grandsons very much, and his great grandchildren were his world. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, and enjoyed watching football. He took great pride in watching his grandsons Peter and Mike play baseball and football when they were growing up, and looked forward to watching his great grandsons playing baseball and football. They were his pride and joys. He had a big heart and was a sweetheart with a great smile. Bill is survived by his daughter, Cathy Kennedy and her husband James; grandsons, Peter D. McGuire, Jr. and Michael McGuire and his wife Jessica; 10 great grandchildren, Lindsey, Devin, Alan, Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Aiden, Mason, Coby, and Sebastian; his dear friend, Mary Trainor; a special great niece, Cassandra Knoff; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandson, James Poulin. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 2 P.M. at Stafford Springs Cemetery, Monson Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
