William Morabito's Obituary
William D. Morabito, 63, of Willington, CT, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2006 at Rockville General Hospital, Rockville, CT. He was born in Dobbs Ferry, NY, son of the late Rocco and Violet (Thompson) Morabito. After graduating from the University of Hartford, Bill began his employment career as a teacher in the Hartford Public School System. In 1970, he began an almost 30 year career in Connecticut's Criminal Justice System. He held positions of parole officer, supervisor, and correctional warden. He held positions in State/Federal Half-Way House and the Juvenile Justice System. Bill was appointed by Governor Weicker to serve a four year term on the Connecticut Parole Board. After working five years with the Manchester Public Schools, he again went back to corrections to assist in the merging of the Connecticut Pardon's Board with the Connecticut Parole Board. Bill's hobbies included working outdoors, fishing along Connecticut's shoreline, and caring for his exotic birds. Bill is survived by a son, Brian S. Morabito of Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura M. and Scott Ralph of Indiana; three grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria, and Elizabeth; and friends, Lynn, Vic, and many others. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Samuel Morabito. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 from 5-8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. A graveside service and interment will take place on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 1 P.M. at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
